The hat and sweater are also very important to the Freddy costume but can be easily found elsewhere. If you are interested in being Freddy Krueger for Halloween and want to create the illusion yourself, here are some tips on how to accomplish it with as little out of pocket as possible.

First is the famous striped sweater. This may be a bit of a challenge to find. In a bind you could always create a top using red and black fabric and stitching it together to create the stripes.

The next thing of concern is Freddy’s hat. You should start looking early for this. It is likely that you can find one similar at a thrift store or a second hand outlet.

Freddy’s face is going to be a challenge but can be done. You will need multiple tones of makeup for the process and someone who is a fair artist to try and recreate the frightening face of Freddy on yours. You can purchase the teeth at any local costume shop fairly inexpensively.

The Freddy Krueger costume hands may be your biggest challenge. You can certainly create them from an old glove, cardboard and silver paint. You just need to take your time in creating the detail on them and you will have terrific knife fingers in no time that are both fun and safe. You could also use cardboard and tinfoil for the desired effect.

Remember to wear black pants and black shoes to complete the Freddy outfit. Although this costume is one of the more difficult to recreate, it can be done with some effort and creativity.

However, if you are short on time then it would probably be best to buy your Freddy costume offline or at your local costume shop.
